Game, Points, and Tournament Info

Game:

  • Standard drive team (driver, manipulator, coach, human player); 15sec auto, 2:15min teleop
  • Defenses start with a strength of two; crossing decreases strength by one
  • One human player per alliance can be a spy
  • Crossing a defense: start fully in neutral zone, end fully in courtyard
  • Can have just bumpers over defense module in auto mode for points
  • Tower strength starts at 8, goal scored decreases by 1
  • Tower is captured if 3 robots are surrounding/scaling it
  • Can only preload a boulder ON the robot
  • To have scaled the tower, must be 2' off the ground (bumpers clearly above line); avoid the low goal while climbing
  • Robot must stay on tower 5sec after powered down to have climbed up
  • Cannot intentionally throw boulder out
  • Must start on opposite side of field from driver station, cannot cross over midline (auto only).
  • Robot starts on auto line or in spy box (any part)
  • Max height is 4'6", except for when climbing tower (last 20 sec)
  • Can't extend beyond 15" past frame perimeter
  • Cannot contact opposing robot while in secret passage, can only enter from opponent's courtyard, cannot use to travel from one area to another.
  • Cannot pin for 5+ secs
  • Can't spread out to block goals while standing on own batter; only one defending bot
  • Boulders can't be fed through opponent's secret passage
  • No more than 6 boulders in a castle at once
  • Can't launch boulders except from opponent's courtyard
  • Boulder cannot travel through outerworks without accompanying bot, cannot take more than one
  • Can't interfere with robot trying to cross defenses; no interfering with robots on batter in last 20sec
  • Can't jump low bar
  • Can spy use other means of communication?

Tournament Rules:

  • Yellow card against robot assigned after multiple fouls; red card after two yellows
  • Red card stops you from competing in the match
  • No wireless communication around the field
  • Alliances may call a timeout (elimination only, one only)
  • Field open 30min prior to qualification matches
  • One defense chosen by audience noise level; other 3 choices made by one drive team representing their alliance
  • Defense determined two matches prior
  • Audience's choice applies to a whole round of matches

Point Values and Penalties:
