Gear Mechanism
Mark I
Mark I was our original gear mechanism, and was a completely passive mechanism, passive in collection, and passive in deployment. This was a very common design in all competitions, due to its extreme simplicity.
Mark II
Inspired by our Davis alliance partners, 701 - The RoboVikes, Mark II was our first try at an active gear mechanism that could also pick things up off the ground. Mark II was one common form of the ground pickup, and essentially consisted of a bottom plate to scoop up a gear, and a top roller to hold it in.
Mark III
Inspired by another team at SVR, 5924 - The Cat Machine, Mark III was our second try at an active gear mechanism that could also pick things up off the ground. Mark III was the second common form of the ground pickup, although with a top and bottom roller instead of a plate on the bottom.
